Thank you Bokimkatje Komiks for the template! I'm sorry, I couldn't fit all my komiks into it, so I had to adjust... I did not know I had made so many comic pages already!

And to answer your question, yes I realize there is a dA watermark in my Twilight's Calling page, but I dunno where my files are... and it is originally colored, but aesthetics. ( ꈍᴗꈍ)

It’s time for my annual art summary! And for this year we have…

I’ve drawn the most number of manga pages this year than any other year of my career! I consider that as an accomplishment since I draw so slowly…

For 2016, I want to learn how to let go of not being able to draw too much detail, and to not draw perfectly, so I can be faster. I know I check and double check way too many times, which slows down progress overall! I blame it on my OCD with hair and faces and anatomy and everything else!

Although there is a bit of improvement with my speed, I need to be even faster! I know the clock is ticking away at my career, especially considering my current circumstances… but I think if my speed improves, I can keep drawing for another year or two!

I want to draw Crystal Shadows again too… It was supposed to be a short series, but these long hiatuses are turning it into a long running one!

Anyway, thank you everyone for your continued support! I will keep doing my best and improve a lot more next year! See you again in 2016!

Gold Manga BEST #2 – Coming to MIBF!

This volume features Raykosen’s illustration of Alesana Marie’s “Talk Back and You’re Dead!” The first time Ray showed this to us, I got pretty excited, because the expressions on the characters’ faces look so intense! I can’t wait to read the manga adaptation!

The other 3 series in the first book will be entering their second chapter, but this marks as TBYD’s debut issue so don’t miss it!

Meme: 5 Day Art Challenge (Day 5)

Since it’s the last day of that art meme, I decided to post some of the stuff that I’ve been working on… As far as I know, these books are not yet available for purchase, so these would be exclusive sneak peeks!

KARMA: Chapter 3 – Epilogue is going to be published under Oh No! Manga. This panel is probably one of the highlights of the chapter, but it’s not the main plot..? So I guess it’s something to look forward to without giving too much away.

WISH*GRANTED is published in GOLD Manga #3 under PSICOM. It debuted last February 14 at the “Love at First Write” event, but I haven’t seen the book in stores yet. Hopefully it will be out very soon. I think I might be in love with King.

My FBBF (Manga) #2 will be published in GOLD Best #2 under PSICOM. We’re still working on the pages, but I thought Luke looked so adorable in this panel even though it’s not yet finished… also something to look forward to, I hope?

And this marks the end of my 5 Day Art Challenge! Sorry the last one is a bunch of panels from my manga works, but I hope you enjoyed them nonetheless! Until next time!

Kurohiko’s ART SUMMARY 2014

Another year has come and gone, and I’m happy to say that I had even more manga projects for the year 2014! I’ve learned a lot last year, including being patient with myself, as I’m less industrious than the younger generation of Pinoy Manga Artists! I’ve also realized how much hard work and dedication it takes to go from one manga to the next, not to mention, adjusting styles to better suit the story entrusted to me! (´ω｀★)

Most of all, I feel incredibly blessed to have fellow artists as my friends and rivals as we push each other to become even better than we were before. Thank you, Enjelicious, Power-J, and Raykosen! And to my idols, Sir Memer, Sir Ilog, Miss Tepai, Florineil, and Kuru-san, I promise to work even harder so that one day, I can proudly say that we have become rivals!

Let’s go, 2015! I’m ready when you are! Ｏ(≧▽≦)Ｏ

Gold Best and FBBF4 in SM Megamall

I had some errands to do yesterday, and got to walk around SM Megamall for a bit. I’m happy to confirm that Gold Best and FBBF4 is available there! (｡´∀｀)ﾉ Powerbooks carried copies of FBBF4 while Filbars and National Bookstore carried Gold Best! It made me a little giddy to see it for myself~ (〜￣▽￣)〜 But I hope I didn’t scare the salespeople in the stores.

I bought a copy for myself since I can’t wait to see FBBFmanga in print. （＞ｙ＜） I want to see if I need to fix anything for the next chapter too. Yay for more reading material! ☆*･゜ﾟ･*(^O^)/*･゜ﾟ･*☆

I confess, I may have enjoyed designing the girls a little more than the boys for this manga. However, reality began to set in once I began drawing them for the manga since drawing long hair can be such a pain!!! ヽ(￣д￣;)ノ I had to draw most of Nadine’s hair freehand since it was so time consuming.

I think I need to adjust the art and text a bit for the book’s spine next time. I thought it would be ok, but from these photos, it’s still not perfect. (シ_ _)シ Argh~! I wanna see the book already!!! (o≧Д≦)o

I don’t have my own copy of Gold Pinoy Manga Best yet, so I’m relying on fan photos to see how our book turned out… Leave it to Taichou to be one of the first few people to post pages from the FBBF Manga~ ☆ﾐ(o*･ω･)ﾉ

From the photos, it looks ok. The tones look clean, and choosing to skip the shadows made the pages look brighter than my usual works. Yes, not putting shadows on every single panel was actually intentional, and not due to time constraint. Since this was a fairly text heavy manga, I wanted the art to be “lighter” but still full of detail. This style is experimentally more shoujo than my other works, but I hope it’s still “me” anyway! (*≧▽≦)o .｡.:*☆

First Look: FBBF Volume 4 Cover

When I first read “My Facebook Boyfriend… for Real?!”, I thoroughly enjoyed the first book, even though my Tagalog is limited at best. (o≧^≦)o I can speak conversational Tagalog with a mixture of English (and sometimes, even Chinese), but use uncommon words like lapastangan and pukol and you’ll see me reaching for my pocket dictionary.

I thought my contributions to the fandom would only be limited to fan arts… who would have thought the author would let me draw the cover for her 4th book? o(^^o)

“My Facebook Boyfriend… for Real?!” Volume 4 will be available at the Manila International Book Fair tomorrow in PSICOM’s booth! I won’t be able to attend due to some personal business, but please support the author! Here is a list of her scheduled appearances: September 19 – 21.

I finally got my hands on Volume 3! I thought this series was going to end with the third book but noooo~! Berna decided that she’ll be releasing never before seen chapters in a 4th and final(?) book coming who knows when! (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻

I’m hesitating with whether or not I want to read this, since it’s probably going to end in another cliffhanger, and my heart just… can’t… take anymore heartbreaks. (； T.T))

Kurohiko’s Art Summary 2013

I wanted to do this meme every year, and at the same time, I also wanted to make a new Facebook banner for my artist’s page. I somehow came up with this design, but I’m pretty sure I saw it somewhere before…

Anyway, from the look of things, some months were more productive than others. Some were also so busy with manga work that I was not able to color any illustrations at all! Which is a good thing in my book! I really hope I will have even more manga projects in 2014! Not so much that I won’t be sleeping anymore, but at least enough to make me want to do this full time!
