Kurohiko’s ART SUMMARY 2014

Another year has come and gone, and I’m happy to say that I had even more manga projects for the year 2014! I’ve learned a lot last year, including being patient with myself, as I’m less industrious than the younger generation of Pinoy Manga Artists! I’ve also realized how much hard work and dedication it takes to go from one manga to the next, not to mention, adjusting styles to better suit the story entrusted to me! (´ω`★)

Most of all, I feel incredibly blessed to have fellow artists as my friends and rivals as we push each other to become even better than we were before. Thank you, Enjelicious, Power-J, and Raykosen! And to my idols, Sir Memer, Sir Ilog, Miss Tepai, Florineil, and Kuru-san, I promise to work even harder so that one day, I can proudly say that we have become rivals!

Let’s go, 2015! I’m ready when you are! O(≧▽≦)O

Crystal Shadows: Page 024

I-I forgot to post this on Thursday. Lol! щ(ºДºщ) I guess that’s the thing about chasing deadlines… You tend to forget what day it is and just keep thinking of how to finish a page as soon as possible! (⊙﹏⊙★)

Anyhow, I think I’ll be keeping Erin’s springy ahoge whenever she’s flustered or confused. Also, Sandy can be scary when she wants to, but Dylan doesn’t really seem affected. Hm… ( ≧Д≦)

On a side note: Hayashi-san favorited my tweet! (ノ≧∀≦)ノ*:・゚✧ Hehe!

NO LEAF CLOVER: Angel KEI

Last February, I received this comment in my blog:

I wonder if you take requests? Because I am a fan of Karma and Kei, could you consider drawing Kei as angel from Karma? It is only idea however! Please do not feel pressured! I love your angels very much!

- Yumiya

Well… Since my Facebook page has now received 1250+ likes, I thought a little fan appreciation was long overdue, wouldn’t you agree? (。´∀`)ノ

And so here you go, Yumiya! A fan art of NO LEAF CLOVER’s Hayashi Kei as an angel from my manga, “KARMA”! I decided to change the color of his coat from the official red to green since it suits him better~ ヽ(*≧ω≦)ノ

I hope you like it! Now I have this need to listen to all the songs in Hayashi-san’s youtube channel all over again. ヾ(^ ^ゞ

I’m amazed that my colored sketch of NO LEAF CLOVER from last July is still very popular in this blog. I wonder if the members of NLC know how popular they are among my readers? о(ж>▽<)y ☆ Haha!

No Leaf Clover ♣

A few days ago, I’ve never even heard of “No Leaf Clover”, but I was impressed that Oh No! Manga and Vocafusion managed to invite a Japanese band to the Philippines in time for Cosplay Camp 2. I listened to a few of their songs on YouTube, and I remember thinking, “wow, they’re pretty good!” So good that when I spotted Inai-san walking around alone in the convention, I pointed him out to Ray and asked him to maybe speak to Inai-san so that I can get a quick photo.

That never happened, because the marshals told us to run along… But oh well, what’s a fan to do? Even though we were guests ourselves, there was no way for the Vocafusion or Oh No! Manga staff to know we were guests since we never got our IDs and uniforms.

Nevertheless, I was so happy that I got to hear them live. They weren’t just good, they were very, very good! And even though I had to stay in my table since I was working, I was awestruck… practically teary-eyed when they performed “World’s Edge”!

If it’s possible to fall in love with someone’s music, I think that’s exactly what happened to me last Sunday. Given the chance, I would have bought their CD and waited in line to meet them and take a photo with them, but I was working! I should have asked for a break, but… ah, it is possibly one of my biggest regrets…

And so, in order to stave off a little of that regret, I drew a quick colored sketch for them (I apologize, but I have so many deadlines right now! But even still…) I hope they’ll manage to see this little gift I made for them:

Thank you for coming to visit your fans in the Philippines, and thank you for helping to make Oh No! Manga Cosplay Camp 2 a success! I hope that I will be able to meet you in person one day, and I sincerely hope you enjoyed your stay here!
