"I Love You Pre" Now on MediBang

A few days ago, I decided to enter Medibang's Shonen Shoujo Manga Contest with "I Love You Pre". I figured that since I don't really have the time and money to make this into physical books, then I might was well post the whole thing online for people to read.

I thought it was going to be a simple translate and post, but I spoke to a friend about this and he had other ideas. He told me that if I wanted a chance at winning, then I had to edit a lot of pages and redraw a couple more.

I... was shocked. (ﾟдﾟ；)

We debated for weeks and the amount of work I put into this new version lasted for almost a month..! I wasn't even able to finish everything in his list, but I dare say, this is 20x better than the first version! Having another set of eyes really makes a difference!

I... feel sad.

I didn't think it would be easy, but I thought I had a chance.

I lost the webtoon contest. I'm not even part of the honorable mentions and I didn't think it would make me this sad. I should feel accomplished about beating an impossible deadline, but I gained weight and an eye infection for it, and now it feels like I wasted my time... again.

I feel sad. And maybe also a little frustrated.

So I decided to draw someone who could cheer me up. I couldn't draw Otoya, because he's been ignoring me in Shining Live for a while now, haha!

So I drew Flynn instead. With a bouquet of flowers... so I can imagine him telling me that I did my best and accomplished more than I ever thought I could. And that I shouldn't give up on my dreams just yet, and just keep going.

And I will keep going, but right now... I just feel sad.

And maybe that's okay. Tomorrow will be another day, and I will be better.

*silently screaming* You guys, I had no idea it was possible to make digital art look like this! I'm so in love with Manga Studio's chalk and pastel brushes right now! This piece looks as if it was drawn with pencils and colored with pastels on actual paper!!

I may have just found the solution to my "overly digital" and "cold" art works! You have no idea how happy I am right now!!! ♡~(>w<;;*)

I hope Marielle will like her prize! I should probably get some sleep, but I'm hoping this will get good feedback because I'm going to be using this technique a lot from now on~

Anpanic: Anko-chan!!

I forgot to update here again, silly me! (OwO;;*) Lots of things are suddenly happening all at the same time again, but I'm glad I was able to finish this in time for Anpanic's Drawing Contest!

Anpanic is a cute little online store that has been fulfilling my UtaPri (aka ITTOKI OTOYA FOREVER) needs for quite a while now... I had been planning to draw her mascot as a thank you to the Admin, but then, like I said, life happened, and I kept getting side tracked! (uwu;;) Also, the thing about drawing a new character is that I can never decide how to pose them, so I ended up overthinking and not doing anything at all!

The contest provided characteristics about Anko-chan, so that helped a lot! Plus, there's a backstory behind that wind chime, but that is secret between Admin and me~ (>w<;;*)

Anyhow, I hope I can win because, LOL, Admin is going to Shining Store in Japan, and I need extra pocket money for more Otoyans, ok? ♡~(=v=;;*) I have no shame!!!

Ok, I may have gone a little overboard on this..! I guess I really miss drawing them. (>///<*)

The first winner of my art raffle is Miho, and she requested Louise and King from my manga, WISH*GRANTED. Honestly, I was really hoping these two had ended up together instead of Harry, but then again, angels can't be with humans, can they? (;~;*)

It looks like Louise is begging King to stay with her... Or maybe she's upset that King left her? I'm not sure, but I hope Miho likes it! (^^*)

This is my friend, Jeni, she's an amazing seiyuu (voice actress) who is currently residing in the USA. She asked me to draw an anime version of her, and this is what I came up with. (^^*) That microphone was a big challenge, and I don't even know if I drew it correctly, but I did my best!

Celebrating Otoya's Birthday from Maji Love Legend Star!

UtaPri's 6th Live performance ended yesterday, and I was feeling sad about not being able to go... Not that I eould be able to enjoy a Japanese concert without understanding Japanese in the first place, haha! But my love for Otoya is getting borderline obsessive!

Some of you have probably already seen this sketch on my Facebook or Instagram, but I decided to try and color it on my PC. It turned out really well, considering I didn't ink it digitally~! (^^*) I like how the pencil sketches and shading is still visible underneath the colors! I shpuld make these more often!

TRESE Fan Art: Ang Halimuyak ng Sampaguita

Ah… I’ve made it? Maybe? I hope?

Trese is making an art book full of artworks by many different artists, and I decided to join in on the fun! However, Sir Budjette and Sir Kajo will be judging the entries and I’m so nervous that I seriously can’t even think straight! I feel like this artwork may have too much or too little details… or maybe the concept is way too simple, or that the characters just look too weird in my style!

When I’m in over my head, I need to just stop. Stop working on it, add whatever finishing touches I can, and hope for the best. There are so many talented artists out there, and Power-J said he will submit something too, so… I better stop worrying about it and hit the send button already!

I am Rurouni Kenshin’s #1 Fan!!! (…maybe?)

Many of you already know how big of an influence Nobuhiro Watsuki is when it comes to my manga works. When I was still a (starving) high school student, I couldn’t afford to buy a lot of anime merchandise, but RuroKen manga was something that I had to have. Watsuki-sensei’s artwork was absolutely stunning, but the only ones available at the time were in Chinese! You have no idea how many hours I spent reading these books with a Chinese-English dictionary beside me! There was hardly any scanlations back then, and so, I guess you could say that my Chinese was quite good a few years ago!

My summer vacations were often spent with my uncle teaching me how to draw. 1999 was the summer of Rurouni Kenshin for me as I began exploring proper anatomy and watercoloring. My artworks hung in my room as posters since I would rather save money for the next edition of the manga. The watercolor painting took me several weeks to finish, but I was really happy with the results!

When I was stressed out over family matters a few weeks ago, I found out about this contest about two perverted brothers. I wasn't sure if I could even finish this because of that super detailed shirt... but drawing the pattern calmed me down when I was ready about ready to give up on... well, everything.

Now it's finally finished. I don't want to draw patterns manually ever again, hahaha!

You see, back in 2007, I joined a contest hosted by Apricot8585’s fan club. All participant will get to have their character drawn by the artist, but the top three will be drawn much larger than the rest. I’m very happy to say that Eri caught Apricot’s eye, and she added Eri to her top 10 picks! ヽ(*≧ω≦)ﾉ Sadly, I didn’t get enough votes, and I only ranked 6th or 7th at the end of the contest, but I’m still happy Eri is in here! (｡´∀｀)ﾉ

I had lost my copy of this art until recently, so I guess we can say this is a Throwback Thursday? Goth Eri is one of the most viewed illustrations in my Deviant Art, and you can find the original illustration here. In Apricot’s work, you will find her sitting on a cloud on the upper right corner. ｡◕‿◕｡
