January Meme: Cosplay

As a way of challenging one another, the members of Studio 4 Eyes have decided to make a monthly art meme for the year 2014. Each of us will be taking turns in choosing the theme, and I volunteered to go first. (★^O^★)

January’s theme is “Cosplay”, which is meant to draw our original characters cosplaying a mainstream character who looks like them. Or if not, throwing an original character into another world is also acceptable.

This is what I came up with:

It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of Gundam SEED. (๑>ᴗ<๑) Jeremy looks a lot like Athrun Zala, so I gave Jeremy his Zaft uniform, a Haro, and Tori!

Kinda looks like an album cover, doesn’t it? ( ´ ▽ ` )ﾉ I want to color this, but I’m way behind schedule with work, so I’ll have to color this another time. ☆ﾐ(o*･ω･)ﾉ

Anyway, this was inspired from a vector made by Takayuki Narumi. Hope you guys like it!

Oh No! Manga Cosplay Camp Aftermath

This post is long overdue, but even if I’m still having chills and fever, I thought I might as well start blogging about Cosplay Camp. (*≧▽≦)ﾉｼ))

To be honest, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. With the exception of having cosplayers bringing our characters to life, everything else was played by ear. For one thing, I didn’t know that we fellow artists/contributors would be the judges for the art contest. It was extremely difficult to judge 70 entries (that was supposed to be only 50 (シ_ _)シ), but we somehow managed to work it out with a little mathematics.

So kids, be sure to pay attention in math class. I know I found it to be very useful that day~

CrossOver: Colored Lei and Haro

And this is the colored version of Lei and Haro! Since Lei's uniform is blue-violet, I decided to give her an orange haro.

I think I colored this in the office, so it was done very quickly. I still love how it turned out though... it looks as if it had been airbrushed~ :3

CrossOver: K8 Campbell and Eri Clyne

The day I was officially hired by Mango Jam was also Shijirou's birthday~!

Initially, I pictured Kate to have black hair, but violet suits her well too. Then it gave me an idea that she could be Eri-hime's sister because they look alike~ Kate is younger because she is a newer creation than Eri.

I love how the corner designs are actually swirls of their hair. I should try this design more often...

I remember asking people in the chatroom to give me some ideas for quick sketches. Lei was the first one to request a chibi of her.

I think I was very addicted to Gundam SEED when this was made... Isn't it obvious?
